Help???

Post by Hidalgo »

So I have this stallion and I've been trying to get him to lose weight. He's been in a barn with no food for over half a year and he's still very fat. Anyone know what to do about this?

If he isn't loosing any weight he maybe stuck at very fat, there are some horses who are just extremely easy keepers...I have a 7 stat Russian Don Dressage stallion who is stuck at very fat.

It might help to have the horse train and perform in local competitions. Not sure if it will, but I've seen my horses drop weight on 100% feed in barns when I work them hard.

That's not a bad idea. Thanks!

How old were your horses when this happened? As far as I'm aware it should only happen on horses younger than five years because they are still growing.

Even if this does work for the time being, they will still gain the weight back after you’re done. It just doesn’t seem very worth it.

Yes because once you stop working them they’ll still gain it back. And I highly doubt there’s a way to fix it if the horse is eating nothing, it is most likely a glitch.

I hope it is just a glitch. I'd hate to think he might pass it on to his foals.
