Re: Help???
If he isn't loosing any weight he maybe stuck at very fat, there are some horses who are just extremely easy keepers...I have a 7 stat Russian Don Dressage stallion who is stuck at very fat.Hidalgo wrote:So I have this stallion and I've been trying to get him to lose weight. He's been in a barn with no food for over half a year and he's still very fat. Anyone know what to do about this?

Re: Help???
It might help to have the horse train and perform in local competitions. Not sure if it will, but I've seen my horses drop weight on 100% feed in barns when I work them hard.

That's not a bad idea. Thanks!Geidim O'in wrote:It might help to have the horse train and perform in local competitions. Not sure if it will, but I've seen my horses drop weight on 100% feed in barns when I work them hard.

Re: Help???
How old were your horses when this happened? As far as I'm aware it should only happen on horses younger than five years because they are still growing.Geidim O'in wrote:It might help to have the horse train and perform in local competitions. Re: Help???
Even if this does work for the time being, they will still gain the weight back after you’re done. It just doesn’t seem very worth it.Hidalgo wrote:That's not a bad idea. Re: Help???
Yes because once you stop working them they’ll still gain it back. And I highly doubt there’s a way to fix it if the horse is eating nothing, it is most likely a glitch.Hidalgo wrote:Ah, that's good to know.Jasmine_Hanley wrote:

Re: Help???
I hope it is just a glitch. I'd hate to think he might pass it on to his foals.Jasmine_Hanley wrote:Yes because once you stop working them they’ll still gain it back.
