Yep! I spend a lot of time browsing the playerbase and looking at farms while I wait for turns. I’ve seen tones of beautiful ranches with valuable horses but the owners haven’t been online in years sadly
I was thinking of creating a thread in the breeding communities forum where active people (people that login at least once a month) can chat to liven things up a bit. And it’d be a way for people to introduce themselves and find others with common goals. I also think if we can get it active enough it’ll help keep people coming back, because HWO burnout is real
I was thinking the same thing. I would like an in-game way to just keep track of active breeders. Maybe an "active players breeding directory", something that players can keep updated, saying what they are up to, and also works as a catalog.
That’s what farm logs are for I believe, but not all players do them and as someone with my own log while creating it I felt like I had to be all professional so there’s probably a lot of players doing stuff but they might feel they don’t have the capacity to publish a log. Farm logs also tend to be pretty quiet with only the author publishing. While a more official way to tell who’s actually active and breeding would be awesome I’ve just been thinking of starting an ‘active breeders association’ in the breeding communities area where active breeders can come together to tell us all what they are doing and just chat. One thing I’ve noticed with my breeding project is no one else is really there to see what I’ve achieved, sure, if I wanted to I could make a yay me post in general or something but I want to be able to talk to other people while I’m still on my journey not just go tada results. Because things don’t always go according to plan and you’ll get setbacks that have honestly made me want to give up sometimes. I just want advice, tips, and maybe we can all get together and sympathize when someone’s horses die out without giving them the horse they needed or they got a colt instead of a filly

Yeah, the idea of a breeding community is nice, but it needs to be kept active even when the OP gets inactive themselves. I think that's the problem most breeding communities end up having. Before my last histus there was an attempt to make an AC breeds community and i didn't even manage to enter with Tarpans myself because the proponent stopped organizing it. And i have a real life as well. Take myself as an example, while I am active all the time now, that is because i am on school break from college, but soon i will go back to school and won't be able to keep track of things. And sometimes i just go on hiatus.

I was thinking about making kind of a daily or weekly forum, where everyone could come and share what they've been doing.

Hiiiiiiiiiii this is my alt account but on my main I breed Falabella's, Knabstroppers, trying to breed high HGP Belgins, and I'm also starting a Araibian project for high HGP. started the first 2 for fun and the 3rd because I've noticed they kinda stink the ones on the market, Arabians are just profitable

I'm back on track with a new shiny project - Western Trail Mongolians. Let's see where this will lead me (:
(Also still hoping to revive and improve my Endurance line when I have motivation to do it)

Hey its bestleopardbreeders, and I've definitely noticed the change of active players on HWO. I've been playing for around six years on and off and I bet I could not find the players that helped me out when I was a newb. I breed thoroughbreds mainly for racing, cross country, and harness racing. My favorite breeds to work with has definitely changed. I used to love Arabians, grade horses, Akhal-tekes, and belgians but if you look across my accounts 85% of them are thoroughbreds, about 12% are rare standardbreds, and 3% are other breeds mostly mustangs. I train on EMHAL in 2yrs 8months, which is not a flex nowadays. . . lol idk I just want to see more active players. I haven't even bought a horse from another player in a while and that is where I normally get new stock from.
