COI meaning

Post by UltimateHonse2 »

So COI is for inbreeding right? But does a COI of a hundred indicate sweet home Alabama or no inbreeding??

A COI of 100% means inbreeding

Sweet home Alabama 💀
How do I fix it??? I don’t inbreed my horses but if their parents have that 100% then they must get it too

You can breed your horse to an unrelated horse to limit the inbreeding but it only helps to a certain extent so there is not really a way to fix it and even if there is a way it is nearly impossible. So it is better to avoid it if possible.

It's worth noting that nothing in the game looks at the COI% to do any calculations. If the horse has good genes the game doesn't care where they came from.

Oh well I guess I can just now worry about it for now, is HWO getting any updates that would add effects to the COI?

Not directly, but a bit more indirectly. We were told that higher COI will eventually mean weaker horses in some aspects. Exactly what that'll mean is a bit vague, however we were told to 'try to aim to keep a horse under 40% COI and generally it won't affect your bloodline' (paraphrased).

When such a thing comes, we are usually given a LOT of warning, so we can prepare. So, keep it in mind, get used to working with COI but overall, don't concern yourself too much about it.

Yes'um! But keep in mind, you'll be pulling your HGP downward. It is a delicate balance. :D
