How do you keep weight off a horse?
Q: How do you keep weight off a horse?
Radar, my 5-year-old, Belgian stallion has been gaining weight like no other. He's scheduled to be ridden three times a day with the maximum difficulty, but he just seems to be gaining more weight instead of losing weight. I've considered taking him out of the main pasture and turning him out into a new one that has little to no grass in it, but keep in mind that I'm looking for the least expensive option available.

I have had the same problem with one of my horses- though I see yours isn't eating anything other then grass. Turning him out into a new one sounds like the best thing you could do if he's persistently fat

Re: How do you keep weight off a horse?
I think you should mow the pasture, I think that your horse is having too much fiber , you can give your horse feed if there is not enough grass.aussiepep24 wrote:Q: How do you keep weight off a horse?
