My dark appaloosa project is crawling. All of my adoption center mares were Ee heterozygotes, so it took me forever to get an E_ colt out of them since nearly 100% of the appy's available are ee or carry agouti. As it is, I have:
Celtic Legends

She's an Ee A+_ Lplp PATN____ mare. Another heterozygote.
Moroccan Proof

Ee aa LpLp patnpatn
Interstellar Zombie

E_ aa LpLp patnpatn
Berserker

E_ A+_ Lp__ patnpatn

I'm about halfway through my second line of appy colored horses! And this line has palominos, duns, silver dapple duns, and a few others, so they're so pretty!

Re: Figuring out the Appy patterns (updated)
I'm just starting out with the appies (my favorite pattern ♥).
Going to start a line of appy Trakehners, this is what I got so far:

Eventually my black appys will be up for stud so more people can have the colors, but I'm really hoping to get them homozygous first!
Speaking of homozygous... Not sure on the black but definitely on the Lp
Supernova
She just keeps getting more gorgeous!
And on the other end of the spectrum:

I've been producing a lot of palominos/cremellos and chestnuts with my appy colored dutch warmblood herd so I figured I'd share a couple of my best so far. I've really been trying to get a black based one with lots of white. Side note-How can you tell if a horse will be homozygous for the white patterns?

From what I've been able to tell, the snow-flecked ones are homozygous, and the big, solid white patches are heterozygous.Chelle wrote:I've been producing a lot of palominos/cremellos and chestnuts with my appy colored dutch warmblood herd so I figured I'd share a couple of my best so far. This guy is one of my favourites, nothing that fancy but I just think he's so cute LOL! I think I might have to introduce the spots to my gypsies!
