Re: Inbreeding
Well in real life it doesn't cause too many issues, except when of course there is a hidden undesirable gene that is then quickly spread throughout the population. I understood that some inbreeding was ok in the game but eventually there might be some penalties for heavily inbred ones?

Re: Inbreeding
Might it be possible for us to get an idea of how heavily inbred a horse will have to be to cause problems? I'm starting a new breeding plan and I don't know how low I should aim to keep my horses. I'm a little paranoid that whenever this is added, all of my horses will become useless overnight or something. I mean, obviously I shouldn't do 95% COI again.
I just don't know how low is low enough.

Re: Inbreeding
Inbreeding can cause fertility issues and general unthriftyness.
COI over 5% is linked to decreased performance IRL.

Re: Inbreeding
What is CO1?

Re: Inbreeding
COI stands for Coefficient of Inbreeding. Essentially, it measures the common ancestors of dam and sire, and indicates the probability of how genetically similar they are.

Re: Inbreeding
How do you find out a horses CO1?

Re: Inbreeding
You can see it if you check the pedigree tab. It's written o each horse's cardAmira909 wrote:How do you find out a horses CO1?

Re: Inbreeding
The only way I know to find it is to go to your horse's pedigree and their is something that say 7-gen COI with a percentage next to it. The percentage is the inbreeding percentage. Hope this helps.QuesthavenFarms wrote:COI stands for Coefficient of Inbreeding.
