(I use a proscribed supplement on most my ungelded colts when I keep them intact for evaluation at 3. It is a short term chemical gelding that wears off in less than a month.) I would say, however that I truly believe there should be very little point difference in comps for stallions and geldings... except in Pleasure, In-hand, Driving, show jumping, hunter and other more domestic sports. Racing for one should be a very slight lower point difference for Geldings (stallions get more points) because generally a stallion will always smoke a Gelding in racing (there are exceptions) and most racing TB's are only Gelded after failing to prove their standing as a stud. Endurance is a different matter. Sprint racing, racing, harness racing, steeplechase, should perhaps have a point downside if you are entering a Gelding. Mostly to stick to IRL. There are exceptions but mostly these few sports are a vastly populated by colts and stallions. Mostly because of testosterone, increased muscle mass and "hot" tendencies.
It's a sharp subject for sure.

There are arguments on all sides that offer proof for one side while being denied with the other and so on. I like stallions in real life as competitive horses, I don't get along too much with mares, but it seems with the right pairing, they have their competitive edge as well. And geldings can also display that competitive desire, I have seen it for sure... I said CAN. Though, there isn't too many times I've seen a gelding drop a stallion on the racing circuit. However, I have also seen them easily 'smoke a stallion'... and on that racing circuit; I've also seen geldings race better and faster after the procedure then before. But that is neither here nor there for this topic discussion.

I am not and was not attempting to bring up that long list of pros and cons to gelding as the topic dedicated to it still sits around here somewhere. My point was only to offer that a temporary feed-style gelding for those an owner is unsure about might be the better option, rather than a gelding reversal. But I do not know how that might be best implemented in the game. It would definitely need to be fleshed out before I could offer a vote for or against.
I agree. It has some serious downsides. Though it would be useful, I could see possible things out there.

For sure!! Stallions, gelding and mares all have a very competitive edge, it largely depends on the rider, the lines and the training. I personally love my stallions, I respect and adore my elderly geldings and I compete my mares and have a working and bff relationship with them. A good gelding can beat a stallion any day of the week, a mare can too. Like I said (and like you are saying) it really depends on the animals and how it is handled. My little feedlot "project" mare and I are a perfectly matched working team and she loves me more than any of my stallions or my old geldings. But honestly I would never turn down a chance to ride/ show any gender gelded or spayed. I agree... I wish people would drop the this gender is better argument and, to be blunt, just "shut up and ride". I've learned that I never know when my last ride is so I no longer care and I hope people who are on one side here can feel the same. :D :D :D And as a community we can just except whatever the heck our great moderators have in store for the Gelding thing. I personally can't wait to try it. :D

I'm absolutely pro geldings in the game. I would love to see this feature added sooner rather than later and I believe it would bring back a lot of players who've left for. Geldings are an excellent feature because it allows players like myself to sell fully trained competing horses who just aren't what we want to use for selective breeding. Even if they add no benefit but being sterile (no comp bonus) thats still a wonderful much needed addition to the game. That being said I'm strongly against and undo/reverse option. Accidents happen, someone at some point probably even myself will geld a colt and wish they had not. Once gelding they should stay gelded. I've accidentally rehomed horses and it's the same sentiment. Once it's done, it's done.

I'm with Frost on this one. The Gelding feature is one which would benefit many players because as others have stated, allows us players to sell our competitive horses without worrying about our lines getting out. And honestly, this is a much more wanted feature than, dare I say, any others. So, I am a bit baffled on why it's low priority. I don't mean to sound ungrateful or like I'm complaining, but it seems like the HWO admins are not listening to what their players want. Wouldn't it be better to implement features that players need instead of what we don't? (Example: goats, I mean, they're cute, but why??)

Also, about the ungelding thing, I strongly disagree with it. I think it would be best if it was like rehoming, it cannot be undone.

I do agree it should be left undone, however you could draw straws for AI for a later date before gelding for a fee.

Wha if (after the programmers have finished all that stuff they are working on) you can choose to have your stallion gelded? Also, (this isn't meant to sound rude, I'm so sorry if it does!) if you haven't got geldings in the game yet, why when you go onto the sale page does it have the option for geldings and stallions? It got me very confused when I started playing.
