You know, strangely enough, I don't really like her. XD She was my first full body pattern and she kept throwing nothing.... And I'm not a huge fan of the fading.Ms. Trouble Maker wrote: Ooops my bad! This one http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/199728
On another note, does anyone have any preference on which of the foundation horse breeds they might like to see in purebred as a homozygous stud with full body color?

See I absolutely loveee the fading! haha Because every time a horse fades it could always be a different color! And every horse will fade in different amounts!Dayaine wrote:You know, strangely enough, I don't really like her. XD She was my first full body pattern and she kept throwing nothing.... Good luck! I have 3 mares to him now, so we can see what he spawns together!

I bred a foundy caspian to him too. You are smart setting the stud fees higer, I put Intricate Gold up at 1k stud fee and when i woke up this morning he had been bred almost 300 times lol

Re: Figuring out the Appy patterns (updated)
To be honest, that's why I do it. I set a couple that are lower so that people without a ton of money could still breed for some definite color, but for the others, I don't want 70,000 foals running around.CalicoJenn wrote:I bred a foundy caspian to him too. Re: Figuring out the Appy patterns (updated)
Most people rehome immediately if there isn't a pattern. I have had studs bred 10-20 times but only have 3-6 foals kept by the breeders. I raise fees higher as more people use my studs. And take them down once the reach a certain number of foals.Dayaine wrote:To be honest, that's why I do it. I've been adding spots in to my Knabstruppers, mainly by using Tarpan x Forest Horses as this creates close if not perfect evaluations for Knabstrupper. The Forest Horses are definitely producing bigger spots, and breeding these back to each other is generally making the spots bigger still.
This guy is a mixed Frederiksborg, the result of two half Frederiksborgs that have a small blanket patch and both come from Tarpan x Forest Horse parents, and this foal has a further extended blanket.

This mare was from a blanket spotted Shetland Pony crossed with a Forest Horse, and again the blanket ended up further extended than the parents.

These two Knabstruppers both came from only one spotted parent and have only inherited the small blanket pattern.

I'm going to experiment a bit more with breeding spots to spots and trying to extend the pattern. I've also tried experimenting a bit with Arabians and Turks but not really got what I wanted.... maybe I'm just getting unlucky with the foundations I'm adopting.....
