What do you mean by leopard?
Leopard being an all white horse with spots....all white.

I want a leapard horse! lol or an all white horse with huge spots!!! Buuut I'm striving for the pure Appaloosas. I always loved Appy's, there was some real nice ones at the barn I used to board at.

I want the patterns mostly. Then I plan to cross and recross until I get homozygous patterns on all of the foundation horse breeds, then I can use them to have appy coloring in my paint line. Sooo much work...

Yeah, lol.

So in summary from what I know of breeding my horses:

The spreading patterns come (I think) from Caspians and Forest Horses. I think they're easier to see from the Caspians, but they can occur pretty rapidly if you get the right Forest Horse.

Big spots and spotted patterns seem to be heterozygous for the LP gene. And the little spot flecked or "snowcap" patterns appear to be homogenous for the LP gene.

It also bears noting, that my horses had patterns move up towards their face as more horses with PATN were introduced into their bloodline.

So hopefully that helps anyone who is attempting to make pretty babies!

yes..thoguh the Forest horse doesn't have the large amounts of white....I think Forest just controls the big spots though...Arabs to make some different patterns too...not sure on NAB though.

Hmm, you might be right about the Forest Horse. It's difficult to tell since most of mine have it in them.
