Breeding Questions
Hi! So, I just had a quick question about creating a new breed. I understand that to create one, you have to cross whichever breeds are listed in the Breeds Wiki. However, what if a have a horse like this:
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2275670
He is part Canadian Pacer, and to create a Standardbred, here is the recipe:
[Thoroughbred + Canadian Pacer] + [Narrangansett Pacer + Morgan]
Can I still create the breed with a part (80%) Canadian Pacer, or would he have to be purebred? Also, does the gender of the horses in the recipe matter? Like, when I breed a horse, the dam's breed is always listed first and the sire's second (Ex. http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2282746; dam = Narrangansett Pacer, sire = Morgan) Or does it not matter as long as I have the right general cross? Thanks for reading this!

Re: Breeding Questions
As long as the parent horses follow the recipe, it doesn't matter if they're part, mix or even as little as 1%.Jockey's Holding wrote:Hi! So, I just had a quick question about creating a new breed. So for the standard, the Tb x Can Pacer side can be 85% Tb, 15% pacer, 99% pacer, 1% Tb or any other combination. Just as long as the breed for that parent-recipe horse reads as "Thoroughbred x Canadian Pacer" [or] "Canadian Pacer x Thoroughbred", it has the chance to create your standardbred.
This is the same for either side of the recipe.
Plus, it doesn't matter which parent is which cross breed.
What WON'T work, is mixing the recipe up. A standardbred cannot be made from a canadian pacer x morgan crossed to a thoroughbred x narrangansett pacer.
