I've noticed that they often do look stubby. I try not to breed them for that.

No offense but European bred Belgians meant for working, particularly in the smaller towns / more remote areas, can be quite short. They're what's called the Belgian Brabant. The Americanized Belgians, whose roots lie in the Brabant, are leggier nice-looking show animals but, in reality, they're not nearly as efficient in actual working purposes as the Brabant.



Again no offense but I am talking of original stock quarter horses. Not halter. Halter, like racing, are very TB influenced nowadays. Original QH's average height is 14.3 to 15.1hh. They're short, broad & muscular. This is the old west movie famous type. I grew up in the west and saw, rode and dealt with plenty of authentic cattle bred Quarter Horses.

But as you say it's your option. Mine differs.

Again no offense but halter is just an intermediate between racing & stock. They're not the stockiest (in fact some just look like fat TBs) & overly leggy due to how some lines have excessive Thoroughbred influence like racing QHs.

I bought two of the Vladimir Heavy Drafts. If you get any Percheron mares maybe interested as have a nice stud to use.

Yes, draft horses are a lot stockier, but some in the game are much to stubby and don't have barely any legs, including the Belgian in this game, I'm not saying all are like that, but lots are, and in real life, Belgians aren't that "stubby". We have lots of them where we live and I've been around them lots of time in real life in person. as for the QHs, I've grown up riding them and working with them, and I can tell you they aren't super short legged at all, it, of course, depends on what the horse was bred to do, say you have a western halter QH horse and a HUS QH horse, there gonna be built differently. Anyway, as I said before this was MY opinion and not everyone agrees

Alright I know what your getting at. But I also think your putting down all other QHs that arent up to "your" standards and if you dont like them, there supposedly not "authentic". You were doing that with the draft breeds also. Every different variation in a breed is bred for a certain purpose, so they can do there job well, and it ends there, not one is better then the other or more "authentic ". You can like one type more then the other i don't really care.

I'm done with this whole thing now, I have my opinion and you have yours, That's great.

I have lots of great drafts and no one seems to be buying them. I'm wondering why that is. I've made sure they are either lowest price in search or well priced for what they are. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or are people just not interested in draft breeds? What do I need to do to get better results?

There are still a few who like draft horses. It may be the interest that is the issue.

No where did I "put down" other QHs or draft horses because they "weren't up to my standard". It was simply being knowledgeable on breeds & stating fact. Different breeds have different types. Btw no offense but in real life breeders & breed enthusiasts alike will refer to certain types as more authentic, traditional and/or original quite simply because they've less (often modern times) influence from other breeds it doesn't mean they're "better".
