Selecting for tail set
I am just curious.
Is anyone else selecting for low set tail? I have been culling to keep high set tails out of my horses as much as possible and I am wondering if anyone else is doing the same. Seems like high set tails are dominant because it is getting harder find horses without them. They are okay for some breeds such as Arabs or Saddlebreds but look strange to me on most breeds that have a low tail set in RL. Anyone else working on this?

Re: Selecting for tail set
Its a consideration for me, but not top of the list. My horses don't have to have a really low tail to be good enough for me since the breed doesn't have super low set tails, I just don't want it way up there like an Arabian.
Signature? I don't need no stinkin' signature! Everybody knows who I am already!

I'm doing the opposite! I like high-tail sets so I try to only have horses with them. Only, it's not working out too well...QuesthavenFarms wrote:I am just curious.

Re: Selecting for tail set
One of my major considerations is a low tail set. The main type I focus on has a very sloped croup so a low tail set feels natural.
