Universal Time/Game Time

Post by ImpressiveInstant »

I have noticed that time is difficult to work out here. There is no in game time (other than the one used for game turns) as in real life time.
In the forums you can change your timezone so that everyone is working on different times. So the problem arises when I say to my friend "Im putting this horse up for sale at 5pm." But which timezone 5pm??
I live in New Zealand so I am a whole day ahead in time so lets just say my friend goes to buy my horse at 5pm....and its at a completely different time because they live in another part of the world. We could get around this problem if there was a universal in game time.
So I could say "Im putting my horse up for sale at 5pm Horse World Online time" and me and my friend will be able to co-ordinate perfectly because we will be working on the same time.

I hope this makes sense!

You could always ask what time it is for them when they post so your aware how many hours they are ahead or behind you

I don't exactly thing it's necessary. I agree with Horsey8866, you could always arrange a time for you to both be on. The reason as to why it wouldn't be necessary is that either way, you would still have to sort out the time. Not to mention, the person still might not be able to be on at let's say, 5PM HWO time. Since private sales will be implemented very soon, this won't be a problem for much longer :)

I'm an Aussie, so I completely understand this issue.
I don't see why people are so against this, it shouldn't be too hard to implement, most other online games I play have a 'central' time in which the game runs on..
Would definitely make it easier for communication
