Breed Creation Question help please?

I'm Confused about my breeding , Did I get the Mixing wrong? I'm trying to get a west African Barb. The parents both have Two stars {**} for West African Barb. In different places, But I got a 50% foal from them? this is what got me as I don't know whats worng? I'm also new to the Game.

In order to create a new breed, the foal must meet the breed requirements. So if you have a foal born that meets all the requirements but is too tall, you'll get a mix. Or it could be too short or to much pony or too much horse, ect.. When a foal meets all requirements, only then will you get a new breed. In your case, the foal doesn't meet the height or body size requirements. The more stars the parents meet, the more likely the foal will meet the breed requirements.
