Real (Life) Horse Question/ Help Wanted!

Post by Kayaine »

Hi all!

I'm trying to find a nice stud for two of my mares in real life. If anyone is interested, I'd like to request help in locating some decent ones. I've found a few, but I can't seem to find any nicely proportioned paint studs. So if anyone is bored and wants to go browsing through stud ads with me, I'd would appreciate the help!

I don't have many requirements except that they not be anything but N/N if they have an Impressive bloodline, and a stud fee less than $750. They can live anywhere in the US as long as they ship semen too.

So far, I have these two as possibilities:

If you don't have time for stud ad browsing, feel free to throw out some comments on what I should look for or on the options I've found already! All help/advice will be appreciated!

I've bred quarters and paints for a long time, and your best bet is to breed to a quarter for better conformation. Try sticking to actual foundation lines like handcock and poco and you should be good. The only paint I know personally that I can recommend is 'Admiral Three Bars' since he's a homozygous black Tobi and probably the nicest paint stud I've ever seen, his confirmation and movement is out of this world, but the lady who is leasing him is taking him to AZ and I'm not sure if they will ship.h

I deleted the photo because- and what a trip- Admiral Three Bars is by Shots Flying Spark as well. Small flipping world. I would be careful with the overo, though. The photo of the yearling they have is not a good one, and the one of the stallion is angled to hide his shoulder, which is probably pretty steep. Watch out for the angles of horses in for sale or at stud ads. People can get really masterful at hiding a horses flaws.
