Long tail, short mane

Is it possible to have a horse with a long tail and a short mane? And when does the mane and tail stop growing? I get so disappointed every time I have one with a long tail/short mane and then the mane grows to long at like 5-7 years of age haha

Only way to have a "short" mane on a horse with long tail is for the horse to have an upright mane (like the przewalski horses).
