What do the +1, +2, etc... mean on the breed?

What do the +1, +2, etc... mean on the breed?

When a horse is say, North African Barb [100%] that much is obvious,
but what does a breed such as Andalusian [+1] mean?

(Just to help searching for this by word in threads, plus one, plus two)

It counts the number of generations that the animal is purebred.
