Colt Won't Gain Weight...
The colt in question is named Granite, and he is housed in the Breeding BARN. I am feeding him 112% Mare's Milk and 60% Performance Mix, that equates to 172% Daily Energy, so he should be gaining weight. And yet, despite this, he won't. I had the same trouble with his predecessor, Turquoise. And this is very irritating because I'm training Granite, and I was training Turquoise, to take part in local shows and win. The training also comes with the herd mares. I only keep one stud and one colt. And when the colt grows up, i sell the stallion that came before him so the colt is the only breeding stallion.
So, am I doing something wrong? What can I change?
Here is Granite:

Re: Colt Won't Gain Weight...
I have posted about this in the bugs forum about foals in barns. When I train foals I keep them in a pasture until they turn 6 months old before moving them into a barn and it seems to be the only way to keep a foals weight until this is fixed.
