Varnish and Brown messing things up?

Post by Alana »

Need oppinions on a couple of horses

Exceed Destiny

is she Buckskin Snowflake Varnish or is there sooty in it aswell?

Endless Tickle

Chestnut or Brown?

Forgotten Spice

This one confuses me, Palomino or Brown with Cream?

Linked Emotion

Another Palomino or Brown with Cream?

Lovestruck Suspicion

Silver or just the varnishing doing its thing?

Unnamed

I am guessing she is not Buckskin but what is she?

I think it is the Brown and the Varnish that confuses me and the guides does not take the Lepoard complex into account so hard to compare pictures aswell

If anyone can give some insight I will be very gratefull :)

Exceed Destiny is definitely sooty as well, which makes the varnish turn dark grey/black where she otherwise would have been sooty.

Endless Tickle is brown but appaloosa bronzing makes her coat look more chestnut than brown. She is also silver, which can be seen at the photo of her as a foal where her mane and tail is white.

Forgotten Spice is smoky brown (brown with cream). The best way of telling is by looking at his earlier photos. Appaloosa bronzing is also making his coat lighter than a normal brown horse would be at 3 years old. The white mane/tail as a foal is also due to silver.

Linked Emotion is the same as Forgotten Spice.

Lovestruck Suspicion is not silver, it's the varnish roan that makes her mane and tail go white. As a foal she did not have white mane and tail (which is the best way of telling if a horse has silver or not).

Unnamed is smoky brown but without any appaloosa bronzing. She will just be varnished when she is older.
