Conf Show: Seeking Judges
As of right now, I am seriously planning to host the first of the Player-Held Conformation Shows next Friday (with potentially a second and third show on Saturday and Sunday). Between now and then, I would like to get at least 3-5 judges besides myself who can help with this project. Anyone can volunteer as a judge. Mind you, this position requires some responsibility. An ability to communicate and be polite is required. Making compromises and being patient with other players is also needed. Besides that, a love of horses and ability to tell one breed from the next is all you need.
I'm currently planning for a double on Friday (Coldblood and Hotblood) and double on Saturday (Miniature/Pony and Warmblood). Best in Show will be hosted on Sunday with the winners of the prior breeds and/or classes.
Here is a link to the original topic, a quick read through should help clear up many questions. Class information and judging criterion are listed.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... ows#p20910
All non-judge players can also begin entering their horses and ponies today. Take a look at the class information on the other thread and please fill out the form below.
If you have comments/questions/suggestions, please just post here in this thread or on the other. I will respond as quickly as possible.

ENTRY FORM
Exhibitor Username/Farm Name:
Horse #: Link to horse.
Specialty: Coldblood, Hotblood, Miniature/Pony, or Warmblood. Please enter in one (1) despite some breeds being able to enter more than one category.
Class:
Breed:
Color:
Sex: Mare, gelding, or stallion.
///
Requirements for Entry:
Horse must be purebred or only have one breed listed.
Horses must be 3-4* for their breed. (Judges will check when possible, but with rare breeds this is done on an honor system.)
Horses should be in good condition for their breed. A poor horse in any breed will be DQ’d. A thin hot-blood or fat cold-blood is acceptable.
Horses must be four-years-old (4) in order to show. Only mares and stallions can show at this point in time as there would be much difficulty in properly judging foals.

Re: Conf Show: Seeking Judges
Hey, I would really love to enter my ponies in this, but i'm afraid all of mine are crossbreds with Shetland, Falabella, Thoroughbred and Arabian. Perhaps you could create a crossbred category so I can enter mine?
I would like to make breed standards for my own line of ponies that could be used for judging.

Hello! Would you mind if I were to judge for the coldblood, warmblood & pony but enter horses for hotblood? Thanks! If I may, here are my horses entry forms:

Hmm. This is possible, though you would have to pick a breed you'd like your crossbreeds judged against.Neon4 wrote:Hey, I would really love to enter my ponies in this, but i'm afraid all of mine are crossbreds with Shetland, Falabella, Thoroughbred and Arabian. Also if you would like to make breed standards for your ponies (if they are a new breed), that is quite possible. You will need to create an unofficial breed book like those in the store first off. You will also need to set up general conformation for your pony breed based on the conformation variants that exist in game--I'll provide a link to a rough example. Deciding on what mane/tail, feathering, and color options would also help with showing. What traits were important in your breed (see Adopt Horse description of breeds) and what temperaments are common would also be useful. Looking at real breed standards and writing up one similar to them would help overall with each of these requests, I think. (Mind you, if it's a breed that exists offline already you can just link me to their breed standard.)

Re: Conf Show: Seeking Judges
Thank you so much for your entries, Malakai. You can also be a judge for the other competitions and enter in Hotblood, yes.Malakai10 wrote:Hello! Would you mind if I were to judge for the coldblood, warmblood & pony but enter horses for hotblood? Thanks!

We will be using a modified version of the Arabian Breeders World Cup: Scoring System for judging. The judging scale (poor < ideal) and dropping of highest and lowest scores will be used. On the other hand, we are modifying what is judged. I will post the updated metric in the Player-held Conformation Show thread for all judges to see. As soon as you get an entry, you can begin comparing horses but hold off on mentioning your opinions until entries close on Friday at 12am. By the end of the show day, all judges must post each horse's scores. All judges opinions will then be gathered and the horse will get his or her final score for that show. The mare with the highest points and the stallion with the highest points will go on to compete for Best in Show.

Thanks! Shall I re-post my entries on this post http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... f=8&t=5649? Friday 12am in what time-zone? And must we post results before Sunday (sorry if my question is stupid. I had too much sleep.)

Re: Conf Show: Seeking Judges
You can repost them there if you wish, but I've added them to the entry book I have up. I may set up a few Google Documents all judges can use, but if you have an alternative system you'd like to use, please let me know. Aw, sorry to hear that. Good luck to all your other horses!Malakai10 wrote: Thanks! Shall I re-post my entries on this post http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... f=8&t=5649? Oh dear me, I entirely forgot about time zones. I was sick over the weekend and my brain's not back online either. I suppose Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) would probably make the most sense?

Okay, that'd be great.Revenant wrote: You can repost them there if you wish, but I've added them to the entry book I have up.
