Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Passing on my Suffolk Punch line to a reliable person.
Hi, I have an already started line of Suffolk Punches. I was hoping to be able to pass this line on to someone who I can trust to continue to breed them and improve the line. Please answer this post if you think you might be that person!

Re: Passing on my Suffolk Punch line to a reliable person.
Have you had any interest so far? I am packed right now with breeding projects, but I'm a sucker for rare breeds like the Suffolk.
If nobody steps up, I might have to spend some extra cash to expand or hurry along in my other projects so I can sell my Baladis. ^^;

I haven't had any interest yet. Let me know if you ever have space for another project like this, and I can pass them on to you if no-one has showed any interest in them by then!Revenant wrote:Have you had any interest so far? Thanks for expressing your interest, I really appreciate it!

I'm looking to getting started into a second breed, I'd be honoured to breed such a lovely breed like the Suffolk Punch. I'm happy to take on this challenge, if you are willing to let me accept it

Re: Passing on my Suffolk Punch line to a reliable person.
If you could take them on, I would really appreciate it! There are about 15 purebreds and more than 10 partbreds, but i'm not sure and don't have time to check. I'm keeping at least one, who I will put up for stud if you want, I have just grown really attached to him and can't let him go. Most of the purebreds have good all round stats, but the partbreds aren't so great. There are also some of the breeds needed to create the suffolk.ruby_jane wrote:I'm looking to getting started into a second breed, I'd be honoured to breed such a lovely breed like the Suffolk Punch. Are you sure you want to take them on? And if so when can you take them?
You might need about 5 large pastures to take them all comfortably.

At the moment I could probably only take on the purebreds, purely because I need the room to expand my arabian lines if that is okay?Neon wrote:If you could take them on, I would really appreciate it! I can take them whenever

Yep that works, we need to find a time when we are both on at the same time so that i can send them with minimal risk of someone else buying them.ruby_jane wrote: At the moment I could probably only take on the purebreds, purely because I need the room to expand my arabian lines if that is okay?

Re: Passing on my Suffolk Punch line to a reliable person.
Oh wow.
Glad someone else had some interest too! That's lovely. If you need any help with them down the road, Ruby Jane, feel free to let me know. Personally I breed the American Cream Draft, a critical draft breed and the USA's only heritage draft breed, and their one color is flaxen gold champagne. Technically they could be used as an outcross for the Suffolk Punch fairly easily or vice versa, I believe, since the SP is supposed to be chestnut.
