Player horse history

Post by DestinoRidge »

I think it would be kind of cool if under the "Player" or "My Farm" we had a tab with a list of horses we've produced. I breed and sell so I like seeing how my horses turn out or if they're being used at all and sometimes it's hard to find them. :)

Support- maybe a tab on a horses page could open up the past owners of a horse, so you could see who the horse had belonged to over it's life. Love the idea Destany

That would be really cool! Perhaps a list of all horses deceased in your care (memorial) and a current list of produced horses. One thought I had that pairs well with this is to be able to find horses in their seven generation pedigree. For instance, my bought horse Lorenzo produced many foals for me--but he was also a stud who was bred to a LOT of mares. I would love to be able to see how prevalent my studs' lines are in various breeds.

I'd be happy with a general list of horses in all stables/pastures, to more easily find the one's I want. I've already "forgotten" about some I bought and then couldn't find. LOL

I agree with this! It would also be nice if we would browse other player's production when we visit their farms.

Oh, and I hoped when people visited my farm they admired the landscaping. :P

Some players put their history/goals in the farm description boxes. There is also a great deal of helpful information in "Farm Logs" and "Breeding Communities". :ugeek:

Yet again I will express my desire for REAL memorial pages as referred to in those frustrating "horse has passed on" notices. :geek:

:D Still, the staff is working hard anyway. Larissar is trying to bring a new, better-featured profile page online. We'll see improvements as time goes on. :)

Didn't want to bring this up again in a different topic so I'm adding to this one.

Full support, but instead of all horses, perhaps allow us to save specific ones? Or else do a display for all horses bred, and then allow us to "Favorite" certain horses and filter through them in some way.

I know I've likely done well over 100 horses already (possibly closer to three to six times that), and I can imagine getting frustrated trying to scroll through them all in search of a specific group, especially since many of those were recipe horses, HGP increasers, etc. that weren't all that important yet were high in my breeding population. I can only imagine how many horses the older players of the game would have to look through.

At the current moment the retired horse pages might not be accessible if you don't have some way to locate a horse be it via an ancestry line or a saved link that you wrote down yourself, so it'd be cool to have some sort of automatic log so that you can locate them again. Maybe just something that notes the horse's name and breed with a link to the retired horse's page?

A full memorial with all retired horses you've bred as well as horses that retired while on your farm would be pretty cool just to look through every now and then. It would definitely need the ability to sort and filter the horses in some way, be it via dates, breeds, names, colors, etc.

It should also be kept separate from a display of the current non-retired horses bred by a player as to avoid confusion. Perhaps two separate lists would be best; one for retired horses and one for non-retired ones. This would be great for keeping track of horses that aren't in your possession as well as acting as an active search for your farm. If you have a rather chaotic and unorganized farm, being able to search up a horse's name and go directly to it would work wonders.

If you have a foal out of them or if it a foal you could click progeny/pedigree and find them

Mmm... After thinking on this for a long time. [And having it put on the back-burner of the mind] And now seeing that it's temporarily resurrected...

I think one of the most direct ways to handle this, and the sorting feature, is to have it set up like the market search is. It loads all of your horses, then you can sort it by breed, etc. Of course, a number of other options are obsolete, like age, and then something like HGP would be a good search to have added. Eh, well... age might not be obsolete. Although I have no idea if the system saves the age the horse last was when they left. Could be interesting to see the sort of what ages your horses ended up going.

That said, EclipticEnd suggested adding a favorite's click. I kind of feel that it's a type of necessity. Kind of like bookmarking the forum topics.
