Bay, right?
I have determined the color of my horse Bella
as being Bay. Am I right or are there some underlying dilutions and stuff that I just don't see?
EDIT:
Sorry, I linked to the wrong horse. I forgot that the number in the first horse tag is the profile number of the horse.

Re: Bay, right?
profile preview shows a chestnut

Re: Bay, right?
Sorry I forgot that the number in the first horse tag was the profile number for that horse. I mean this horse: Bella

Re: Bay, right?
No, the horse you linked is not bay. It is chestnut. Bay horses have a red/brown coat with black mane and tail as well as black or nearly black legs (some have more black on their legs, others have less black on their legs).

Re: Bay, right?
Yeah the previous link seemed to be to a horse which seemed to have passed away, looks right now, but yes Bella is chestnut like Totina said. The stallion you have bred her to is bay though.

Re: Bay, right?
Okay. I am not that familiar with horse colors so that is why I thought it was bay. I guess I should look up Arabian Horse color genetics or something.

Re: Bay, right?
If you're looking for places to learn the basics about horse colours, I advise you to check out the blog "Equine Tapestry". There are also several Facebook groups filles with knowledgable people (Equine Color Genetics and Equine Genetics Explained), and a few people on here would probably also be up for explaining the basics :)caters wrote:Okay. This http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... =13&t=2158 helps when you determine HWO horses' colours :)
Happy playing!
