Community Reminder - May 2025
Some Preliminary Notes
Okay, first off, I haven't done one of these in quite some time. Because of certain reasons (which some of you already know) I haven't been feeling great. But I'm still around and have been watching over things, as is my usual. Since my last Reminder, I haven't really seen any issues in the forums and have only been watching our admin progress with updates and releases for the game.
For those of you that haven't been keeping up with our admin's latest work, our new color palette looks like it'll be coming to us sometime this summer. This will include all of our current colors for our horses. larissar has some color shading to finish, some tail line-up to complete (this may already be finished by the time this topic is posted) and finally, the white markings (this one will take some time).
Included in this release:
Grinders for Newbies & Returnees
Grinders for Newbies & Returnees
This is just a quick revisit for all of those that need it.
We, as a community, try to offer Grinders for free or for cheap to anybody that's in need of them. For the most part, we haven't had problems with players taking bad advantage of this, so we continue to offer this important aid freely.
When aiding a Newbie or a Returnee with a free or cheap Grinder, we must keep in mind where their finances are. For the most part, every Newbie will not have the finances to purchase a Grinder or pay for a horse to be trained for Grinder use. As far as Returnees are concerned, they may have the funds to purchase a Grinder Prospect and train them themselves (or pay to have them trained), but for the most part, Returnees will gain a [fully trained] Grinder at a discount price. In some cases, they'll be supplied with a [fully trained] Grinder also for free.
When we offer these Grinders for Newbies and Returnees, it's of utmost importance that these Grinders are sent to them, Fully Trained (trained to at least 90% in every stat and usually 99% in every stat). It's also important that we send them with an age not over 5 years, so that they have time to accumulate maximum earnings, turn and PT drops before their Grinder kicks off.
By sending them a trained grinder that's under 5 years, they should have earned enough in local shows that they can then purchase their next Grinder or Grinder Prospect without having to ask the community for additional help.
As far as conforming to Grinder minimums, aim for horses with HGP at least in the 55,000 range with multiple colored comments, no reds and high conformation stat numbers. This will help maximize the horse for appropriate earnings.
Providing Grinders for Newbies & Returnees isn't for newbies to tackle. You won't be making any monies off of this and you should be tackling putting yourself in an area financially, where you're comfortable, well before you try to provide others with the aid you, yourself, likely received. Don't rush these things; you will one day, be in this position and able to do so. Try to be patient.
