Some questions from a beginner

Post by Emiisheartless2 »

Hello everyone! I started playing hwo a few days ago and I have gotten completely hooked. I am currently trying to breed good saddleseat horses with some feathering (the genes of which I still do not quite understand, but it seems no one is completely sure so I won’t bother asking about them). I do have some questions though.

1. Does the temperament and weight of the mare during the pregnancy affect the foal in any way?

2. Does expanding the farm increase the amount of space available, or only the number of areas (barns and pastures) one can have?

3. Does a horse that does well in local competitions generally do well in player made competitions as well, or are different things required somehow?

1. No, it does not.
2. Number of areas only. To increase the space for horses, purchase and place stables or pastures. To increase area to place more barns or pastures, go to Edit Farm and increase depth or width. To increase total max amount of horses possible, learn player skills.
3. Yes... but... There's quite a bit more to it than a simple yes or no. Competition (the other horses) will have a great effect on your own horse's performance. If you have a horse that does really well, take a look at the scores in locals and see how close they are to the record holders. If they're really close, your horse may be a good performer in hosted competitions (player-made). It never really hurts to try your horses in hosted competitions, but avoid the high entry fee ones until you're sure. However, if the local scores appear really far from the record, then that horse will likely fail pretty spectacularly in hosted.
