Mongolian Horse
Mongolian Horse
The Mongolian Horse is a small, hardy breed of horse best known for its role as a war pony of Genghis Khan. They were a key factor supporting the 13th-century conquests of the Mongol Empire. The Mongolian Horse is one breed with 4 distinct types: Tes, Galshar (bred primarily for racing, though not the most wide-spread type), Darkhad (well adapted to extreme living conditions and found in the mountain and taiga regions), Jargalant (a taller type found mostly in central Mongolia). There exists also another type in Inner Mongolia (China) called Ujumqin, which is raised on rich pastureland and is a much more refined type.
Description: The Mongolian bears a similar resemblance to the Przewalski Horse. It's a small, stocky built horse with a relatively short back and short but strong legs. It has great stamina and strength despite its small body. The most desirable animals should have thick legs, a large barrel, and a large head with a roman nose. Their mane and tail are long and thick, and the hooves are quite hardy, both traits that have helped their survival in tough living conditions.
Common Colours: All colours are possible but primarily dun, black, bay, chestnut, and some breeders prefer grey coats.
Common Uses: Riding, racing and transport primarily but also bred for milk and meat.
Country of Origin: Mongolia.
Dates of Origin: Thought to be many thousands of years old.
Current Status: Very numerous, estimated approx. 2.9 million animals

Yay! One of my favorite breeds
I'm not sure if it's okay to share links here, but I've found some really nice photos of real-life Mongolian horses!

Re: Mongolian Horse
I have quite a few Mongolians who are non-dun! COI is high since I'm trying to keep dun out, but if anyone does want to breed to one of my boys or wants a mare, I can make them available. Just to maybe get some more non-dun genes out there, cause I swear I didn't see one single dun horse in Mongolia

Re: Mongolian Horse
Hi, I have a quick question!
Will there be any sort of announcement prior to the end of the event? Because I am playing so often and am still trying to finish other projects, I tend to freeze horses in my alternate account so I don't lose their blood while I am working. I would like my main account to have the 3rd gen Mongolian blood when the event ends, but I worry I won't realize when that will be and will miss it.

Re: Mongolian Horse
Yes we'll make sure to post an announcement as we get close to the end of the breeding project so no one misses out.

Re: Mongolian Horse
Hey Crowlo so I have been trying to get a Mongolian mare - that is old enough to breed but can't find one at a reasonable price. I have bought a lot of horses from you and I love all of them. I can buy a Mongolian MARE for up to 10,000!crowlo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2024 4:32 am I have quite a few Mongolians who are non-dun! Re: Mongolian Horse
As my random act of "what do i do with this money I don't buy horses" for the day, I would like to cover purchase costs/stud fees/etc for 2b for whatever they need from crowlo (or other mongolians available elsewhere). Either 2b can sell me a horse to cover said costs or crowlo can quote me a price directly2bPerformanceHorses wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 3:33 pmHey Crowlo so I have been trying to get a Mongolian mare - that is old enough to breed but can't find one at a reasonable price. though at the moment it does look like there are some cheaper ones on the market! ah whatever the offer still stands
