Breeding and general questions
I haven't played this game in awhile. Is there a way to see how far along a pregnancy is? What is the best thing to do to make money in this game? What should i know about the game to be successful? Last what is a grinder fodder?

First, welcome back!
Pictorial Pregnancy - A Visual Gestation Timeline
If you don't know when you've bred your mare, the visual guide is your best bet. At least, for now.
The easiest and quickest way to make money is by making grinder fodder (answered below). The best way to make money is by a long-term project where you produce your own herd of horses that are what you want and also have made them into decent competitors. This second option takes time and generally, the more time you dump into it, the more lucrative they can be.
To be successful, it comes down to what your definition of success is. Is it breaking a record? Then aim for strong competition stock and toward a specific discipline. Is it selling horses at high costs? Then you can aim for a strong, confirmed grinder line or strong competitive bloodline. To be successful, first you must determine your own definition of success. The community can guide you toward your success, once you decide what that success is.
Grinder fodder is 'any horse that can be used in local shows'. However, the better the horse (and the more training it has) the better grinder fodder you'll have. For a full explanation on grinder horses, see All About The Grinder Horse.

Re: Breeding and general questions
Thank you! And this might be a weird question but can the horses have thick long tails? Is that something that can be bred?

Re: Breeding and general questions
This is about the thickest long tail I've seen, so it's possible tail thickness is affected by the horse's body type? This being a very heavy pony type body. But long tails are definitely genetic, you can get them down to the horse's hocks. They are probably proportional, so long legged horses would have the longest tails.

The different mane types are genetic also, there's a fluffy one.

Yes. The horse is a good example of it as well.sunandshadow wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:42 amThis is about the thickest long tail I've seen, so it's possible tail thickness is affected by the horse's body type? Yes, they can be bred for (long tails are recessive, and mid tails have a gene of each, short and long).
No, they're not linked to horse body type, however, certain AC horses will have certain types of hair genes as well.
Aim for the shetlands, they usually have the thickest tails to work with, but they also have pony manes. Not all of them. Selective choices will bring you where you want to go.
