Suspicious Stallion

Post by cattus »

I'm holding this guy - horse w/no name
- as a flaxen chestnut grade because I'm working on the color aspect of my Haflingers. But now that he's mature, I'm not so sure he's a FC. Both parents are, but I'm wondering if something else sneaky has worked its way in.

My apologies for the tiny picture. For some reason, the gallery will no longer let me drag the image around in the box. :(

Thanks, Argent! I haven't studied up on the appaloosa stuff that's out because I'm not trying for spots. I had no idea it could impact color expression. I'll have to work on weeding that gene out, I suppose.

Appy does some really weird stuff. Just wait until he's old and varnished out, his face and legs will turn black. This thing:

..started out red dun roan.
