:D

Take a look at your horse. This is the horse's profile page.
There are tabs under the owner notes (owner notes is under the horse name), the very first one is General Information. On the right hand side, you will see Equipment. Under that you will see Feeding.

This is where you can change the horse's food.
Keep an eye on Max Qty. If this turns red, it means you're trying to feed your horse MORE than the horse can eat.

Keep in mind, currently your horse will not suffer from being fat or too thin and you won't lose your horse from starvation or obesity. This affects temperament and weight and these two things are only applicable in disciplines for now. But it is a good idea to get used to them, for a future update. :D

Mares can start to breed at 4 years and you can continue to breed your mare until the day she 'moves on to greener pastures'. She can be rebred the day she drops her foal (gives birth); she won't die while she's pregnant (this is subject to change in the future, but not now); she can pass on, on the day she drops her foal. You earn the chance to lose your horse on their 17th birthday (every turn increases the percentage chance a little bit). Most horses move onward around their 24th birthday. By keeping your horse pregnant, mares have been known to live until their 30th birthday and later.

There is no maximum limit on how many foals any horse can produce, with the exception of moving onward to greener pastures.

Take your time. This is a big game and you can get yourself into any aspect you want, including being very casual at it and avoiding almost every aspect.
