I can't produce new breeds!
My ultimate goal is to breed a spotted Knabstrupper so I'm starting from the beginning with horses from the adoption center. I have two Przewalski Horse x Tarpans that I'm trying to breed with a Tarpan to create a Mongolian, but I've bred both of these horses probably 10 times and I have never gotten one! I keep getting a part Tarpan but never a full Mongolian. Am I doing something wrong? I can't figure it out! Also I've bred my mares to several different studs to see if they would make a difference but still no Mongolians.

Re: I can't produce new breeds!
Ok update… Literally right after I wrote this I clicked to go to a new day and one of my mares FINALLY gave birth to a Mongolian
But if anyone could give any advice to make this process easier that would be greatly appreciated!

Re: I can't produce new breeds!
I'm breeding Clydesdales and found I had the same problem for a while. The animals you combining to produce the new breed MUST have good markings for that breed. I have found that 3 stars does work, eventually you will get the new breed, but 4 stars is really what you want. So I have a mare marked 4* Clydesdale - she is a Friesian x Shire mix - and she (mixed to the right 4* stallion) produced a Clydesdale her second foaling. But I also have a 3* mare and it took her five times till she produced what a Clydesdale. Long story short look at those stars, depending on how many stars they have for the new breed is how you can see (about) how long it will take them to produce what you want.
Just in case you don't know: you have to buy the book in the book shop for the breed your looking to create.
After you purchase the book:
--> Click on the horse's page
--> In the bottom bar(below the horses' hooves) click on "breeding"
--> and in the breeding link click on "Evaluation" if you purchased the book you can have the horse evaluated for the new breed this way.

No, they don't. If you have two horses at the opposite ends of the spectrum, you may be able to successfully cross them and get the breed you want. It is usually easier with three or four stars, but sometimes even that doesn't help.Rodeo_Ace wrote:The animals you combining to produce the new breed MUST have good markings for that breed.

Maybe it's just me then, I never was able to get the breed I wanted with horses less than 3*. I can't even count how many horses I used and times I tried. Eventually I just started breeding for the 3-4* horses. It's good to know though! I have a 2* with a really good breeding report I could mix in.Argent II wrote:No, they don't. I'm glad I could help some. I'm still learning myself, but definitely go the book rout. It's kept me from buying some not so good horses!LexiLouLou wrote:Thank you! Argent has been playing this game for a long time, I do my best to pay attention whenever she posts something. She knows what she is talking about, so take her word over mine with the stars count.

Re: I can't produce new breeds!
Exactly, it's the combination that matters. Just keep in mind if one horse is too high in something you'd ideally want the other horse low in whatever that is.Argent II wrote:No, they don't. But of course if they are too far removed from the ideal then there probably isn't anything to can pair them with to get the breed you want. A horse might have no stars for the breed you want but when you look at the evaluation they aren't actually that far off
