Sooty?

Really quick question this time (I promise)!

I was just curious as to whether the odd color of this guy is due to the influence of sooty, or if it's just a regular variation of bay. He's so gray/cool compared to the rest of my bay "rainbow," it made me wonder. That's all! :D
