Can someone explain to me the dividing line between horse and pony types? I don't think I really understand the concept...

Horse type: Short back, long legs.
Pony type: Long back, short legs.



This mare is Quarter x Turkmene but her body is 62% pony type because her legs are so short in relation to her back length.

The way it was explained that helped me understand how to work my breeding plans was to think of it as a scale:

100% Horse ------- 50% Horse/50% Pony ------- 100% Pony
