I prefer not to borrow horses because I don't play super consistently and I don't want to end up with someone else's horse or forgetting about it or something. If you have one meeting my requirements that you'd be willing to sell, I'd buy one though. I'd take a filly if you want to wait until something is born that you are willing to sell.
