Grey And Foal Coloration
So my question isn't about any horse in particular, more of a "help me detect grey earlier" kind of thing. I've noticed that my horses that grey out always seem to be born with dark ("adult-color") legs whereas my horses that don't grey out seem to be born with light ("baby-fur-color") legs. Is this phenomenon all in my head, or is this actually a good way of knowing which foals will grey out? Here are some examples:
Two bay horses:
Grey 0 years -> 4 years
->
Non-grey 0 years -> 4 years
->
Two bay duns:
Grey 0 years -> 4.5 years
->
Non-grey 0 years -> 4 years
->
Two bay horses:
Grey 0 years -> 4 years
->Non-grey 0 years -> 4 years

Yes, you are right. Foals that will grey out are born much darker than their not-greying siblings. Black foals that grey out are born jet black.

Awesome, thanks so much for the confirmation. ^_^ It was getting annoying to stare my babies in the face as they aged trying to figure out if I was seeing goggles or not. XD
