Leasing Horses

I had a thought that it could be useful to be able to give a player a horse (for a price) and then have it automatically returned to you after a length of time, be it IRL or in turns.

If it were based on the horse's age, it could be good for people who want to allow a horse to be used by someone else, possibly for breeding, but are worried that they might not get that horse back.

Alternatively, if it were done by time then there's possible uses in contests, for example, as well as the guarantee that even if the horse is frozen, it will eventually be returned.

Maybe a merging would be the best idea: either returned at 10 years of age or in 7 days, for example. Kind of like the setup for offers where you can specify an age and a timeframe?

I figure this could be a good way to ensure returned horses (not that I've really seen an issue in that department) as well as offer some security to those who want to help others, but worry that their horses will be aged out or frozen, never to be seen again.

I realize there's an issue in what to do it a Mare, for example, is with foal when the timer runs out. Maybe an additional setting could be put in place in which a pregnant mare is returned as soon as she's birthed the foal?

Let me know what you guys think. I know there's a couple of suggestions in place already, but they're for Broodmares in particular and vague about the how. I'm hoping this might fill in that empty bit and raise some discussion about what might work best with players who might use this feature if it were implemented. I could see it working with training as you could set it up to automatically return horses at maturity, but the lack of a money transfer option without buying horses from each other might make it less efficient due to payment.
