Black Blaze?

Post by Lekara »

This pretty lady aged in an interesting way. Her filly photo seems to be clearly palomino. I could see her roaning by her 2 year old photo. I took another photo at 5, when her varnish was noticeable, and then put her to pasture (I try to do this with all my horses - photos at newborn, 2 years and 5 years).
I didn't look at her again for many game years and then saw that she had created this neat "reverse" blaze - a black strip down her face! Of course, by now she was showing her sooty, so I'm fairly certain that's what is creating the neat look.
But I thought I'd share. :)

Has anyone seen this black stripe before? Is it a glitch/bug, or a part of the sooty at work?

I've seen the darkening of that spot on all varnish horses, but its neat when it happens on such a light coat!

Heres one of my more interesting ones! She changes so much through her photos.

Appaloosa horses are like chameleons sometimes lol
I think some of it might have to do with bronzing as well, but I'm not as familiar with how that works so I can't say for certain

Oh cool! She's got a lot going on, haha! What a beautiful girl!

I really like that look. I'm glad it's not a glitch - I'll have to keep an eye on my other LP/Varnish horses for that mark!
Thanks for sharing. ^_^
