Just a few colours that need identifying...

Post by HorseRider123987 »

Any ideas what colour this foal is?

And perhaps give me the colour of the parents as well?

I'm not really good at these 'white' colours, I've only just got the hang of the chestnut, bay and wild bay thing along with some dun

So this would be a bit easier if the foal was at least 1 year, but I think I've got it down.

The foal I'm going to say Silver Smoky Cream with tiger eye (black + 2x cream + silver + 2x tiger eye). This would be the same color as her grandmother on her sire's side.

The parents, on the other hand, are both Silver Smoky Cream Champagne with tiger eye (black + champagne + 2x cream + silver + 2x tiger eye). The sire is certain to be heterozygous for champagne as his dam did not have it. We can't be quite as sure on the dam because we have no way to look at her own mother. But the dam is quite clearly a triple dilute and the filly is only a double (she's too dark to be a triple) so the dam must be hetero for champagne as well. That means that both parents passed on a cream but didn't pass champagne, resulting in the filly.
