Champagne Coat Confusion

Post by Shadow Scar »

This little girls Champagne gene is really throwing me off today. I can't for the life of me figure out what her color is besides a brown base with champagne. She is way to light to not carry cream and her coat tone makes me think there might actually be a very light dun too.

She is Sable Cream - brown + champagne + 1 x cream. The lightness is simply an effect of the champagne gene. There is no dun in her pedigree so nowhere she could have inherited it from.

Ah thanks for the help I figured there'd be a possibility sense her grandsire about 6 generations back carried it and I've done a good bit of inbreeding for my Hanoverian lines. I know there can be extremely mild expressions and they tend to have a more green tint to their coat so I wouldn't even be surprised at this point.
