Blood Percentage Bonus Question

So according to this thread,

The game is programmed to slightly increase the blood percentage when breeding two of the same breed together so you can gradually bring your horses back to being purebred again without having to cross back to an actual purebred.

Does this work when I have, for example, two horses that are [Part A x B]?
I mean, let's say mine are [60% A x 40% B]. Will their foal be [>60% A x <40% B] or does this only work if the breed is called "Part A" (without the "x B")?

This works when a horse is a single breed only.
