Crossbreeding question!
Hello everyone! So I have a small issue. I bred my Turkmene mare to an Arabian stallion that I adopted. I then sold the stallion. The mare had a colt, and his breed is an Akhal-Teke. I wanted a filly, so I searched studs for sale and found a purebred Arabian stallion. I bred my mare to him, and the foal was a filly. Problem is, her breed Turkmene x Arabian, not Akhal-Teke. What happened here? And will it affect her breeding? I want to breed QHs but I've just started out. So I need to cross a Akhal-Teke with a Galloway to create the TB that I want. If I breed her to a Galloway, will the foal be a TB or a crossbreed? Thanks in advance!

Re: Crossbreeding question!
Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're not. I'd say you should breed her the mare again to an arabian. Buy a book for Akhal-Teke and look at arabian stallions to see how many stars they have for Akhal-Teke. 3-4 stars or close to having stars in the traits raise the chance of succeeding. In this game you have to breed and remove foals every so often before you actually get the result that you want to have. Because the market for horses is pretty dead, and you can't keep them all.
The filly that you got might be useful for some other breed project, I don't know, but its usually a quite good idea to only keep the best ones you got.

Thank you! I do have a breed book but I wasn't aware that the stallion's Turkmene evaluation would affect the foal's breed, I'm new here.
