Rehoming

Post by ablaise »

I know that this has probably been said, but it would be SO nice if you could rehome a horse that had living offspring. There are horses that I would like to quickly move to make space or because I just don't need them anymore but I can't. I have to hang onto them and either hope they sell or wait for them to pass on. I play another horse SIM where you can rehome horses (with offspring or not) and they aren't removed from the game. After rehoming, you can still view their page, but you of course can't do anything with the horse because you don't own them anymore.

Larissa is was considering some other options for rehoming. We'll have to wait and see what changes she does or does not make.

Yep, I agree. Rehoming horses that have already had offspring certainly beats setting the sale price to $1 and just hoping and praying that you don't have to wait until the horse passes away. LOL.

It would be nice, and fairly realistic, if we could sell any horse to the abattoir for a minimum price

It almost makes me feel bad that I find myself constantly hoping my sale horses will either sell or die young so they stop taking up space..

I would vote for some way to rehome horses with living offspring :)

So many horses have disappeared -- "No horse found here" or died -- "Sorry, horse has passed on to greener pastures". This makes it very hard for prospective breeders to find out about ancestors, often recent to a living horse (sire or dam).

While it would be helpful to be able to dispose of a horse (be no longer responsible for the space and energy it requires), could there be some option that would preserve OR recapture the data found on the profiles of living horses?

Or does the game simply need more players/income so that more computing power becomes available at the source? Then we could see a detailed "memorial" page.

BTW, I have no objection to old horses, including "immortal" stallions.

I agree, it's very frustrating not being able to find out about ancestry, also I like buying old horses for $1, it's how I started my herd!
