Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Highland Ponies
I am working towards Highland Ponies, I know someone already has some, It would be nice if this person (and anyone else interested in the breed) would register their interest in this thread so that we can pool our resources, and get a good breeding population with a diverse gene pool.

I just bought five Highlands that were for sale. I am working on developing sport ponies and currently I am focusing on getting some POAs. I tucked the Highlands in my other account with my dressage horses until I am able to move them other to the fast-moving pony ranch. Let me know if you are interested in any breed sharing.

Re: Highland Ponies
And I bought the other. He may be the first Highland Pony ever offered for stud. Here's the text of the ad:

Re: Highland Ponies
I have a trio of Highland mares I kept from my New Forest Pony development.
I'd like to bring them out soon-ish now that my other two breeds are going pretty well. All three are in the 10-12 y/o range, so plenty of time left to get some good foals from them.

Re: Highland Ponies
I moved my Highlands over today to my sport pony acct so i am actively breeding if anyone to exchange studs are such let me know.

Re: Highland Ponies
I've started breeding Highlands, could use some new blood to lower the COI index for them (and get shorter necks in some of them!)

Re: Highland Ponies
I am selling my Highlands as I have too many breeds going. Anyone want my herd? I don't want to rehome or age them out and I play pretty fast so I was hoping someone might want them. I have quite a few to choose from. Name your price. Lots of Palominos, Buckskins, etc all ages.
Here are the three pastures.

Re: Highland Ponies
They are all reduced to a dollar today. Stallions without progeny will be rehomed at the end of the day. Anyone want some more stock please take. I need space and can't afford to feed them all. They are good horses, I just need to focus more.QuesthavenFarms wrote:I am selling my Highlands as I have too many breeds going. Anyone want my herd?
