COL?

when I go to breed my mares I see something COL what does this mean? does it have something to do with the skills being transferred from the parents to the foal?

COI = Coefficient of Inbreeding. It's an estimation of how many of a horse's genes are homozygous by descent, so basically how inbred a horse is.
