Two Duns...
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if I could have some input on my two horses?
The first is this one:

I've got her down as red dun and I think that is correct, but I'm wondering if the black tips on her mane are indicative of sooty?
And the second is this handsome fellow:

I've got him down as bay dun but I'm starting to think he might actually be brown dun or even grullo (black dun)? Not really certain on this one other than that he's definitely dun.
Thanks!

Re: Two Duns...
That first horse doesn't have a chestnut base - if she did, she wouldn't be able to express black pigment at all
Sooty looks different, and tends to start on the back/top of the horse. As for the second, I agree with your initial guess, a bay dun due to the black points. You can see especially see it on the face, his muzzle is darker as well, which wouldn't be the case if he was brown or black.

Okay thank you! I'm thinking the mare is maybe a wild bay dun then, going from the thread you linked
