Congratulations! That's one small step for your Friesian, and one giant leap for Friesian-kind!

*cough*

She's really pretty too, good job! :D

Thank you! lol Ya me and one other person have a Friesian with feather...and I believe I've invested like $200,000 easily trying to get here!! lol We'll have to debate who the first person was to own a feathered friesian. lol Hers was a bit younger when it got feathers and mine was just a late bloomer, but mine is older. lol But even when I was beta testing I never got a Friesian with feathers....so this is just awesome!!!

It is sooooo hard to get Friesians with feathers....If I put EVEN ONE up for stud it'll be like $50,000 or something...Because I think I have invested like $200,000 into this project. lol Even when I was beta testing I never got a Friesian with feathers by the time they did the reset.

Yeah, I got lucky pretty quick... I found Forest Horses with fethers to breed with and so it went pretty quickly for me to get fethers... Now it's refining their looks (black) that I will concentrate on... But first I must make sure I have a base to start from... Right now I have just one colt so it's a project in progress!

Nice! Ya I've got a Mare and I have a colt...but he's to young to tell if he'll have feathers or not. And I must be that one unlucky person. lol At first I tried to breed Forest horses with Andalusian x Arabs and even if the Forest horse had feathers...none of the foals would...they would come out with no feathers or little tuffs of feathers. And I spent a lot of money on failing....then I just took one of my Friesians and bred it with a Belgian and eventaully after 3 generations of part Friesian x Belgians I started getting regular Friesian horses. I was thinking about using Part Friesian x Percheron horses because they have really good feathers and some are palomino. For the most part I like the build of my Friesians because they show really well, and I'm not concerned with it being a "purebred" friesian...because I don't think it can be a purebred friesian if it derived from 3 different horse breeds in the pedigree anyways. lol So may as well throw some color into it....and maybe try to get some black ones too.

Now I got myself a cute little Friesian stud that's only 12.3 hh. lol But he is good at showing with 300 points already! I like his refined face and long legs in comparison to his body.
