"Gold of the Don steppes" farm
Russian Don.
The Russian Don is a breed of horse developed in and named after the steppes region of Russia where the Don River flows. Utilized originally as cavalry horses for the Cossacks, they are currently used for under-saddle work and driving.
The Don usually stands 15.1 to 15.3 hands (61 to 63 inches, 155 to 160 cm), and may be bay, black, gray or chestnut. They have a clean head with a straight or dished profile, well set onto a well-formed neck, high withers, and a wide, deep chest. Their shoulders can be straight, limiting the length of their stride, but are often well-formed. The back is long and straight, flowing into a croup that is long and sloping. The legs are long, well-muscled, and clean with broad joints, strong tendons, and tough hooves.
Main stats are: stamina, agility, intellegence (the main point for all cavalry horses, isn't it?).
Main colours are: golden chestnut.
And what do we need to breed them in this game? Rrright: patiance, time, stubborness and money.
[ Turkmene x Karabair ] x [ Anglo-Arabian x Karabakh ]
Step 1:
Mongolian - [ Przewalski Horse x Tarpan ] x Tarpan
Got 3 colts at last. For this I used 4 Przewalski Horse x Tarpan mares and some of them gave birth 3 times in row. So, 10 foals and only 3 Mongolians. I do smth wrong, really. Who said "Mongolian mares"? Ohoho, gooodness...
So, them: Sarai, Sarai II, Hasan. Also, I wish I could get feathers on them. Will I stuck with these cute ponies? Who knows.
Karabair - [ Arabian x Turkmene ] x [ Arabian x Mongolian ]
Arabian-Mongolian.. Not so bad. The main gait - stamina.
So, I need a lot of Mongolian mares for this step and for the further.
Step 2:
Anglo-Arabian - Thoroughbred x [ Arabian x Thoroughbred ]
Not Anglo-Arabian, but his father. If I recieve so many colts, I will need new arabian mares.
I will not breed TB-horse with my own and should use their studs from outside.
Step 3:
Persian Arabian - Arabian x [ Caspian x Arabian ]
Got 2 Caspian x Arabian foals: Stallion and Mare. The stallion, Silt Strider, seems to me a good sport-horse. Will see, how many attempts should he have to get me a Persian Arabian with good, as he has, stats. Dreams, dreams.
Here he is! Persian colt. Only 3rd try.
And another, and another. Three colts. Should they multiply with vegetation or cloning?
Kabarda - [ Arabian x Mongolian ] x [ Persian Arabian x Turkmene ]
Karabakh - [ Akhal-Teke x Persian Arabian ] x [ Kabarda x Turkmene ]
AT-PA - just live until the moment i'll get Kabarda.
What am I doing, really т-T

- I am very interested in horse breeds that were used in wars throughout history. I actually played a PC game called "Cossacks" where they were carrying their riders to battle c:
I am actually planning to breed Destriers - yes I do know they werent exactly a breed, but they will be based on what used to be Destriers. I have some nice base already, crossing selected breeds and stuff, but I havent really bred horse that I would like as perfect Destrier yet.

I herd about this game but didn't play. I like "Mound and Blade" - with addons, new horses, gameplay and armor of course.SeinaMacabre wrote:

Ye, huge and furious Destrie, small and hardy Scythians/Pechenegs horses, Don, Budenniy, East ones.

Kabarda! At last!
Of course, they are very agile pacers with black coat, but this one pretty too.

What more can I say?
1. At this moment i have two Kabarda and two Karabair. And all colts. It seems to me, game is joking on me last ~7 foals because they all are colts. I need some sex-surgery and female hormones. And its impossible for me to get new Kabardin horses, because new mares wants to throw only "grades" with their praised 3* :c
2. I'm not sure, but looks like horses have a kind of "breeding window" when they can throw out good foals as it happens IRL.
3. Wanted to breed Don - breeding Persians. But i'd prefer to breed Kabarda because of their history, culture influence. They are not for sport, but for mountains and inroads.
