So I've seen this on a couple of other horses, mostly bay Arabians from the adoption center, but I am not sure what causes the graying of the fact and the vine-like markings going up his legs...

The vine-like markings are connected to the greying gene, which causes the horse to become more and more grey over time. {乇山乃}Dark Sky has the greying gene on a black base with tiger eye.
