What's up with West African Barb Breeding? Glitch?

I was trying to breed West African Barbs. This colt is 5* West Aftrican but he did not come out that way? What am I doing wrong? Do I just keep trying this combination or is there no hope?

You didn't follow the right recipe with him. His parents are NAB x Forest and a NAB, however recipe calls for NAB x Forest and NAB x Arabian. You have to change the pure NAB parent to a NAB x Arabian cross.
