Possible error in foal breed?
I was aiming to produce a Percheron, but instead I've ended up with this Half Norman Cob filly: http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/26980
Prior to breeding, I looked over the breed wiki: http://www.horseworldonline.net/wiki/breed/24 , compared it to the pedigrees of the dam and sire and everything seemed to line up.
I'm not sure of there's an error here, or if I'm just missing something. I've looked over the pedigree and breed wiki a few times and there were no mixed or part breeds in the pedigree, just 50/50 crosses. The mare is a 50/50 cross from foundation stock, and the stallion is a Norman Cob whose parents are both 50/50 crosses from foundation stock.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Possible error in foal breed?
It is never guaranteed that your first try to create breed will be sucessful. Even when your pair evaluates as 4* in new breed it may happen that you won't get it, since the foal might be too big or too small for breed data etc.

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that was a factor. Thanks for the info

Re: Possible error in foal breed?
Does that mean that the foal has to be a 4* match to the new breed to be that breed? Thanks

Re: Possible error in foal breed?
No, I myself produced new breeds with only 1* horses for new breed. If you have both horses from pair 4* for new breed it is propably close to 100% that you will succeed, but if they are different sized and such I would assume it works a bit in a way that the pairs foal will be averaged in body size, height etc meaning you will need to either adjust their builds or find a perfect match.fakethislife wrote:Does that mean that the foal has to be a 4* match to the new breed to be that breed?
